Goals:- To catch a huge Chub
- To have fun

River Em
A visit to a new river is always exciting. And this river was the nicest
I had seen to date (and still is). It feels wild somehow. Fallen trees are
left where they are. We bought licenses and asked where we could park the car.
Anywhere said the seller. We parked anywhere and strolled down to the river.
I picked a tiny slack water down-stream a bridge and started fishing. I must
have misjudged the strength of the current, cause my lead just kept bouncing.
Hmmm. I struck - and was attached to a chub. Not the monster I hoped for, but
a nice fish nonetheless. Nicke caught a few tiny chub, I caught no more than
the first, and Jörgen didn't even catch the first! Nonetheless we fished on 'till sunset.

The others wanted to, instead of exciting fishing for chub, fish for the 'orrible Ide. Ide is one of my least favourite fish. If it is a fish. It migrates into the rivers during spring to spawn. Though rarely (=never) when I try to catch them.
O well. We went to some ugly little streamlet and started trotting for the Ide. Almost straight away I was away. Or my float was, rather (under-way at least). Ide rarely fight. But this... Thing... Fought. I had to run abit up-stream, then down. Finally I could coerce it in (on the centre-pin + avon, of course). It was a lean trout(!). Damnation. Most likely a personal best too (if it is at all possible to have a personal BEST trout. I digress.

Another trip to River Em. After careful study of aerial photographs we had decided to fish two different stretches of river. The first, and most promosing, place turned out to be the best place or the ones we fished. It looked good too (in real life).
 PG at dawn
We fished and walked for two days, and caught a laarge number of chub, though no really large ones. We did, however, learn a lot.

2007-07-27 I had planned to fish more in the rivers, but never got around to it. I did fish the Local river a bit though, and managed to sneak out a decent chub 2.5kg (or something like that).
