Young’s own words there! Couldn’t agree more! The BJ 2080 reel is delight to fish with and joy to own, ultimately a somewhat slimmed down Purist 2051. It’s an ideal general purpose reel, not just restricted to trotting and such, perfect for tench, carp, and pike - you name it! Effortless Wallis casting can be achieved in no time, the reels design assists in the job. Runs on a double set of the highest quality stainless steel bearings, six nickel silver spokes, and back plate and spool machined out of solid aluminium bar stock. Easy to take care of just remember after every trip to wipe out the back plate and add little new oil. Young’s also give 2 year guarantee against fault. Great after sales service!

The reel has grown on me over the summer, after a few initial doubts I was having at the start. I would how ever warmly recommend this reel, to any one thinking of buying a CP reel for the first time, as it’s effortless to master, just remember to keep it clean and unmarked - then, if it's not your cup of tea, you can sell it second hand for almost the price you paid for it. So a worthwhile investment and great fishing companion.
